Kent House Bug & Reptile Day
The USDA Forest Service and Kent Plantation House invite children of all ages to the Annual Kent House Bug & Reptile Day at the Kent Plantation House on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Entry fee is $2.00 for ages 3 and up (cash only, please). There will be bug and reptile encounters galore. Come hold a bug or even eat one if you dare! Concessions and t-shirts will be available for purchase.
Safe Summer
Safe Summer is an event sponsored by Calvary Tabernacle of Alexandria. Summer time means that children are at home more and out in the neighborhood more, this can lead to an increase in accidents. Safe Summer will have community providers with health and safety information to ensure that our community has a SAFE SUMMER.
We will also have FREE refreshments, door prizes, and loads of fun.

Alexandria Farmers Market
The Alexandria Farmers Market is a weekly gathering (every Tuesday, year round, 3-6 pm) that connects the community of Alexandria with the farmers, ranchers, and agricultural artisans of central Louisiana. This connection strives to improve the physical, social, and economic well-being of the region by providing access to fresh, healthy, local food for residents, fostering community relationships, and serving as a business incubator for growers and producers.

The Rapides Council on Aging is currently accepting applications for the Homebound Meal Program. Our Outreach event is this Friday, October 28th from 8:00am - 2:00 pm. at 204 Chester St. All Rapides Parish residents 60 and older are encouraged to apply or call 318-445-7985.
