Physical media reigns supreme in KIM’S VIDEO, an elegiac tribute to the iconic video store in New York City that inspired a generation of cinephiles before it mysteriously closed its doors and sent its legendary film archive to a small and slightly dubious Sicilian village for “safekeeping.” But what starts as an homage to cinema quickly becomes a rescue mission to ensure the eternal preservation of the beloved video collection.

This month's speaker is Paul Schexnayder. Paul, a nationally-known children's book author, will share his remarkable tips on how to produce great books and great children's books.
This library program is designed to introduce participants (ages 10 to 14) to the world of game development through Scratch, an intuitive block-based programming platform. The focus of the program will be to create a simple but fun Pong game, where participants will design and code the game's mechanics, from controlling paddles to detecting ball collisions and scoring points. Join us for an exciting STEAM project where we will use the Black and Decker Constructor Off Roader Engineering Kit to teach kids to build and learn! As they follow step-by-step instructions, children will develop problem-solving, spatial awareness, and fine motor skills. Once assembled, the off-roader comes to life, tackling rough terrain for endless interactive play and fun. It’s a hands-on way to explore engineering concepts while having a blast! -The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL) is hosting a Central Louisiana Vaping Town Hall on Thursday, February 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This hybrid event will bring together community members and leaders from across Central Louisiana to address the growing youth vaping epidemic. The discussion will focus on
raising awareness, exploring solutions, and collaborating with the community to eliminate vaping in the area.
