Most notably he made a White House Christmas Tree Ornament and attended the festivities in 2001, received Louisiana’s Governor's Art Award from Governor Mike Foster (2008), received commendations from the State Legislature (2018), and so much more. He is also the author of Contributions of Negro Artists in Louisiana (1972) and Eminent Black Artists in Louisiana (1975).

Calling all young artists! Our library is hosting an exciting hand-building clay class just for kids! Led by our enthusiastic instructor, children will embark on a creative journey exploring the wonderful world of clay.
In this hands-on class, kids will learn basic clay techniques. Designed for children of all skill levels, this class fosters a supportive and encouraging environment where creativity knows no bounds. Through playful experimentation and guided instruction, kids will unleash their artistic talents while having a blast with their peers.
