Join us at Kent Plantation House for our annual Old Fashioned Christmas on Saturday, December 9th from 4 PM to 6 PM inside the Visitor Center. There will be FREE refreshments and crafts. Lots of fun for kids of all ages!! Papa Noel is also scheduled to make an appearance. So bring your family and friends to this fun, free event full of plenty of take home crafts for all to enjoy!

Our new Regional Medical Director, Dr. Christina Lord, will be available for media inquiries as well as to meet and greet with the community.

The Kent House hosts the Rapides Parish Library's annual storytelling event which includes musical entertainment from Brian and Terri Kinder, not-so-scary stories by master storyteller Sylvia Yancy Davis, and then get prepared to be scared right out of your socks by scary storyteller OBA William King! Don't miss this family fun evening on the lawn at the Kent House filled with face painting, food vendors and spooky tales. Admission is FREE!

JOIN US on November 15th, 2023 as Glass Act Recycling hosts a community celebration for America Recycles DayR (ARD), an annual holiday and nationwide initiative by the Keep America Beautiful organization!

The day-long event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Glass Act’s Recycling Center located at 5215-B Leo Street in Alexandria. Shining light on the local recycling movement, the event will also fulfill ARD’s mission of educating and motivating current and would-be recyclers, aiming to make recycling bigger and better.

JOIN US for this year's Holiday Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This annual event is sponsored by the Garden District Neighborhood Foundation of Alexandria, Louisiana. 

About the event: For one beautiful Saturday afternoon, EVERYONE is invited to take a guided tour of FIVE of the Garden District's most unique and historic homes. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each on Eventbrite OR day-of at First United Methodist Church on Jackson Street, which will serve as the jumping off point for tour attendees.
