Alexandria, La. (July 30, 2019) — Many Alexandria residents are experiencing power outages due to lightning strikes during this storm. Some areas are also experiencing flooding.
Please avoid driving through flooded streets. Residents are urged to stay off the roads if possible.
The following areas and roads are closed:

• Lee street
• Lancaster
• Martin Park

Alexandria, La. (July 25, 2019) — A total of 54 amateur boxers from four states competed July 20 in the City of Alexandria Boxing Club Tri-State Boxing Showdown, a USA Boxing sanctioned event held at the Bolton Avenue Community Center. (July 24, 2019) — More than 450 players and coaches will be travelling to Alexandria this weekend as the city hosts softball teams from across the South with four Dixie Softball divisions holding their World Series tournaments at the Johnny Downs Sports Complex. Alexandria, La. (July 23, 2019) — The Alexandria City Council unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday to place a memorial at Bringhurst Golf Course in honor of Scott Overton Brame. (July 18, 2019) — Alexandria Utility Systems customer service representatives have received reports from residents indicating they have been contacted by scammers threatening to disconnect their utilities. The scammers are telling customers that their utility services are about to be disconnected and that they must immediately pay their outstanding charges by credit or debit card over the phone to avoid being disconnected.
