City of Alexandria Recognizes Army’s 250th Birthday
Soldiers assigned to the U.S. Army Shreveport Recruiting Company gathered at Alexandria City Hall on Wednesday, June 11th to honor the Army’s 250th birthday. The event included a traditional “cake cutting” ceremony, a common feature of Army birthday celebrations.
The Hon. Jacques M. Roy, mayor of Alexandria, issued a proclamation declaring June 14, 2025 as “U.S. Army Day” in honor of the Army’s 250th birthday. The proclamation stated that “the Regular Army, U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard have all provided many Alexandria, Louisiana citizens with vocational and educational opportunities, as well as valuable life lessons in courage, discipline and teamwork…”
Happy 250th Birthday U.S. Army!
