Ruston artist Sarah Albritton paints reconstructed emotional memories using both real and imagined elements situated in a bird’s eye view of north Louisiana rural landscape, confronting the past with blunt reality. Growing up as and African American in north Louisiana during the 1930s and 1940s she has expressed her experiences through various creative pursuits.

Intimate photographs of people and land by Dorothea Lange (1895-1965) captured pride and resilience in the face of suffering during the Depression Era through the postwar period. All works are from the collection of Michael Mattis and Judith Hochberg and was organized by art2art Circulating Exhibitions.
